Across 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia and about 193,000 products, the median selling price was SAR 48 on 30 October 2026. That day 16.7% of products were on sale, at a median 24.7% off, and three stores held 64.2% of the discounted ones.
Scope: 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia across nine categories, about 193,000 products, 31 August to 30 October 2026. Prices in SAR, before discount codes. These figures cover 17 stores, not the whole market.
The short answer
All figures as of 30 October 2026. Across 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia, the median listed product costs SAR 48 and 72.5% of listed products cost SAR 100 or less. On 30 October, 16.7% of products were on sale, at a median 24.7% off, and most of those sit at three stores. At the median store, 6.6% of the range was on sale that day. Until 28 October it was about 13% to 16%, before one store's change.
Finding 01
Across 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia and about 193,000 products, the median selling price was SAR 48 on 30 October 2026, and 72.5% of products cost SAR 100 or less.
The middle half of all products costs between SAR 23 and SAR 115, and one in twenty costs more than SAR 765. Books are 47.7% of the products here, so the figures without them are the better guide for most sellers: a median of SAR 70, with the middle half between SAR 23 and SAR 250.
These figures count each product once, so big ranges weigh more. One store is 39.9% of all products and two are 50.7%. Without the largest store alone, the median is SAR 60, 62.2% cost SAR 100 or less, 27.7% are on sale and 68.3% were never on sale. Each of the 17 lists about 3,400 products or more, so read this as a benchmark of large ranges.
Among categories with more than one store, medians run from SAR 23 in beauty to SAR 171 in fragrance. A category median is not a typical store: one store is 61% of the beauty products, and the three auto stores have medians from SAR 23 to SAR 335. Several categories span very wide ladders. In auto the middle half runs from SAR 40 to SAR 291, and in fragrance from SAR 69 to SAR 390.

Finding 02
On 30 October 2026, 16.7% of products across these 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia were on sale, or 31.1% without books.
Neither figure describes the typical store among these 17. Seven stores had under 5% of their range on sale, six had between 5% and 30%, one sat at about half, and three had more than 90%.
Those three hold 64.2% of all discounted products on 11.0% of all products. Until late October a fourth store sat in this group, and these three held about 56% to 60%. At that point about 18% of all products were on sale, and six stores, not seven, had under 5%.
The median store had 6.6% on sale on 30 October. Until 28 October it was about 13% to 16%, and one store ending a near-total sale in the last days of October accounts for the drop. A discount here is the gap between a store's list price and its selling price, and it says nothing about how a list price was set.
| Stores by share on sale | Stores | Median price, SAR | On sale | Median discount | Never discounted | Available |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under 5% | 7 | 23 to 335 | under 0.1% to 4.4% | 13% to 25% | 4% to 100% | 58% to 89% |
| 5% to 30% | 6 | 20 to 200 | 5.5% to 25.7% | 6% to 30% | 74% to 94% | 45% to 80% |
| Over 30% | 4 | 34 to 1,248 | 50.4% to 99.5% | 24% to 27% | under 1% to 49% | 31% to 91% |
Ranges across the stores in each group · 30 October 2026. Never discounted covers 31 August to 30 October, and the 4% is the store that ended its sale in late October. Median discount leaves out two stores with very few discounted products. Available leaves out three stores.
Finding 03
Across 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia, 81.0% of products were never on sale from 31 August to 30 October 2026, or 64.4% without books.
At the three heavy discounters, 93% to 99% of products were on sale for the whole period. Products rarely crossed between the two groups: at 14 of the 17 stores, under 5% did, and at the median store 0.6% did.
Across the period, the share on sale stayed within 2 points at 11 of the 17 stores and within 5 points at 14. Two others swung by about 5 points, one between 0.2% and 5.2% and one between 14.6% and 20.2%. This is the share on sale, not the size of discounts: at one store the median discount halved during September. Discount codes are not included.
The one large exception is a store that moved from nearly all its range on sale to almost none in the last days of the period. The figures on this page dated 30 October include it after that change. These figures say when it changed, not why. Two months cannot show what happens around Ramadan or White Friday, so none of this is a seasonal reading.
Finding 04
The median discount across 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia was 24.7% on 30 October 2026, and 23.9% at the median store.
The most common band is 20% to 30%, with 43.4% of discounted products, so 56.6% sit outside it. Only 3.8% are above 50% off.
That peak comes from the three heavy discounters. Without them, discounts spread fairly evenly from 0% to 50%, with a median of 20% and 21.1% in the 20% to 30% band. At the median store, 19% of discounted products sit in that band. Leaving aside the two stores with very few discounted products, store medians run from 6% to 30%. At 10 of the 14 stores with at least 50 discounted products, the median sits between 15% and 30%.
Finding 05
At six of 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia, 586 products that sold both at full price and on discount between 31 August and 30 October 2026 sold 2.12 times as fast on discount when pooled, at a median 20% off.
60% of those products sold faster on discount. Among the four stores with at least 20 such products, the figure runs from 1.89 to 2.53 times. The largest of them has 371 of the 586. Without it the figure is 2.08 times, on 215 products, of which 51% sold faster.
Those store figures are less steady than they look. One of the four has only 20 such products, and at the store at 2.53 times, 44% of products sold faster. This comparison also does not control for the time of month or for which products a store chose to discount.
The fair reading is that discounts often came with faster sales at these stores, and the size of the effect is not something to plan a budget on. Test it on your own products.
Finding 06
At six of 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia, from 31 August to 30 October 2026, cheaper products often carried the units and dearer ones the money.
At two beauty stores, about 62% of units cost SAR 25 or less while that band holds about a quarter of value. Between SAR 25 and SAR 100 they hold 59% and 68% of value. The average unit is SAR 29 and SAR 26.
The two fragrance stores look different. Under a fifth of units cost SAR 25 or less at both fragrance stores, and prices above SAR 200 hold 38.9% of value at one and 87.9% at the other. Read these two stores as direction only, because their volumes are smaller than at the other four.
Sales also concentrate. The top 10% of products that have sold at least once account for 54% to 76% of units at these stores. Those products are 21% to 83% of each store's range, and against the whole range the top 10% hold 80% to 100% of units. And at five of them, 10% to 38% of available products sold at all during the period, which leaves a long tail with no recent sale.
| Store type | Average price per unit | Units at SAR 25 or less | Value at SAR 25 or less | Value above SAR 200 | Units from top 10% of products that have sold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beauty, store 1 | SAR 29 | 61.6% | 28.0% | 3.1% | 61.8% |
| Beauty, store 2 | SAR 26 | 61.9% | 25.6% | 0.2% | 69.3% |
| Beauty, store 3 | SAR 43 | 49.1% | 16.0% | 12.0% | 53.7% |
| Home and kitchen | SAR 79 | 35.8% | 5.7% | 33.5% | 75.7% |
| Fragrance, store 1 | SAR 125 | 19.0% | 1.6% | 38.9% | 74.4% |
| Fragrance, store 2 (October) | SAR 310 | 17.9% | 1.1% | 87.9% | 64.7% |

Finding 07
At 14 of 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia, 76.5% of products were available on 30 October 2026, so about one in four was not. The other three stores sat near 100% and are left out.
The median store was at 73.3%, and stores ran from 31% to 91%.
Best sellers go unavailable too. At five stores, the share of the top 10% of sellers that was unavailable on 30 October ran from 3.6% to 24.5%. If those products are in your ads, some of that spend is going to a page where nobody can buy. Our guide to pausing ads on unavailable products covers what to do about it.
Finding 08
At four of 17 online stores in Saudi Arabia on 30 October 2026, 73% to 99% of prices divide by 1.15, the 15% Saudi VAT rate, into a whole riyal figure, as with SAR 40.25. Four other stores lean on the charm ending, with 38% to 53% of prices ending in 9. At the median store, about 11% of prices end in 9.
Among about 181,000 products, 1.3% had a higher list price at the end of the period and 0.9% a lower one. Without books it was 2.2% and 1.2%. Rises beat cuts at 14 stores, cuts beat rises at two, and one was level. At 13 stores, under 5% of products changed list price at all. Changes were large when they did happen, with a median rise of 15.5% and a median cut of 16.7%.

Four stores ran 1.89 to 2.53 times, and without the largest store the figure is 2.08 times. Only 60% of those products sold faster on discount, and the comparison does not control for timing or for which products a store chose to discount.
No. This is a benchmark of 17 stores over about two months. It shows how those stores price, discount and sell, and it does not size the market or support a seasonal reading.

If you own the brand
Plan around the order, not the item. At an average unit near SAR 26 to SAR 29, work out whether one item covers your click and delivery costs. If not, build the offer and the ad around a basket, and judge campaigns on contribution per order.
Split campaigns by price band. A store with 87.9% of value above SAR 200 and a store with 38.9% may need different budgets. Read these two as direction only. Use the ladder in Finding 01 to place your product before you write the brief.
Don't benchmark against the three stores with more than 90% on sale. The median store had about 7% to 16% on sale, depending on the date, and store medians mostly sit at 15% to 30% off. If you can show a lift, it should come from your own test, with the same product at both prices for long enough to cover different days of the month.
Check availability every day and pull unavailable products from your ads. At the six stores in Finding 06, the top 10% of products that have sold drive more than half of units. If yours look similar, one missing best seller costs more than an average product.
Don't copy a very large range. Each of these 17 stores lists about 3,400 products or more, and at the six stores in Finding 06 the top 10% of products that have sold take most of the units. Start with the products you can keep available and afford to advertise.
Check your price against the ladder in Finding 01, in riyals with VAT, before you translate the ads. Then compare your list and selling price with your direct category, because a typical store and a heavy discounter look very different.
A move for this week. Pull your last 60 days of orders and split them three ways: units, value and contribution, each by price band. Then check which of your top 10% of products were unavailable on any day that ads ran. That is two quick views of where your budget should go, and you can compare both with the tables above.
