The median AC price in this Egyptian range was flat from late August to late October 2026, unlike phones. Comparing the same offers in both periods, the median AC moved -0.2%, with 41% of offers up and 47% down. Phone prices in Egypt rose sharply over the same weeks. A flat median does not mean a still price, though. Individual prices moved often: the typical AC offer's high and low were about 15% to 18% apart over nine weeks. Check a model's price over several days before you decide, and compare sellers as well as days.
Which AC sizes and price bands take the most demand?
From 28 August to 30 October 2026, in one Egyptian appliance range, 1.5 HP models were about 32% of AC models and took an estimated 57.6% of AC demand.
| Share of AC models vs estimated demand | Models | Demand |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5 HP | 32% | 57.6% |
| 2.25 HP | 33% | 32.2% |
| 3 HP | 26% | 8% to 16% |

| Inverter | 47% | 26.7% |
| Cooling only | 46% | 53.5% |
| Cooling and heating | 54% | 46.5% |
The range spreads fairly evenly across three capacities, while demand does not. More than a quarter of AC models are 3 HP, and they drew between about a twelfth and a sixth of demand. Inverter models are nearly half the range and about a quarter of demand. Heating is the exception: range and demand are close.
By brand, for the ten brands with the most demand among about 370 models from 17 brands:
| Brand | Models | Demand | Value of demand |
|---|---|---|---|
| LG | 13% | 33% | 29% |
| Carrier | 16% | 19% | 24% |
| Midea | 13% | 14% | 14% |

Read brand shares as direction, not ranking, and that includes the order of the largest brands. Between the period to 30 September and October, LG moved from about 31% to 33%, Midea from about 11% to 17% and Hisense from about 16% to 11%.
Which large appliances have the biggest gap between range and demand?
From 28 August to 30 October 2026, across eight large-appliance groups in one Egyptian range, water heaters were about 10% of models and took an estimated 22.0% of demand, while built-in ovens and hobs were 22% of models and took 10.5%.
| Group | Models | Demand | Value of demand | Median price (EGP) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Built-in ovens and hobs | 22% | 10.5% | 11.1% | 20,500 |
| Air conditioners | 18% | 21.0% | 30.7% | 37,000 |
| Washing machines | 14% | 18.9% | 19.6% | 21,500 |

| Dishwashers | 4% | 5.5% | 8.0% | 29,000 |
Water heaters have the largest gap by count: about a tenth of models and over a fifth of demand, at a small share of value. EGP 4,000 to 8,000 holds about 50% of models and 66.5% of demand, while EGP 8,000 to 15,000 holds about 30% of models and 13.0% of demand. Gas models are about 27% of the range and 33.4% of demand.
Washing machines concentrate on 8 to 9 kg, at about 33% of models and 51.0% of demand, and on EGP 15,000 to 25,000, at about 36% and 50.1%. Front loaders (median about EGP 25,500) are about 52% of models and 63.1% of demand. Top loaders (about EGP 12,500) are about 40% and 35.7%.
Refrigerators lean to 400 to 600 litres. Models of 400 to 500 litres (median about EGP 30,000) are about 25% of the range and 33.9% of demand, and 500 to 600 litres (about EGP 58,000) are about 12% and 19.6%. Above that, 600 litres and over are about 7% of models and 1.0% of demand. The 300 to 400 litre band (about EGP 23,000) has the most models, at about 45%, and 33.1% of demand. By brand, Toshiba is about 7% of models and 19.1% of demand, and LG about 4% and 8.9%.
Gas cookers follow the range closely, and five burners dominate both: about 78% of models, 81.2% of demand. Dishwasher demand is heaviest at EGP 30,000 to 50,000, with about 38% of models and 46.5% of demand.
Median prices moved little, at most +3.9%, in the same late August to late October comparison: built-in ovens and hobs -1.7%, gas cookers 0.0%, refrigerators +0.5%, deep freezers 0.0%, washers +1.3%, dishwashers -2.2% and water heaters +3.9%, where 63% of offers rose. These figures show what changed, not why.
Brand shares outside ACs are less steady. In water heaters, Ariston went from 21.2% in the period to 30 September to 46.5% in October, and Olympic from 32.8% to 15.0%. In washing machines, Fresh went from 18.0% to 5.4%, Zanussi from 17.6% to 27.2% and LG from 17.7% to 23.6%. AC capacities kept their order between the two periods, but the shares moved too: 1.5 HP went from 51.0% to 62.9% of AC demand and 2.25 HP from 37.9% to 27.6%, while ACs under EGP 25,000 went from 43.4% to 48.6%.
What can these figures not show?
These figures compare about 2,000 models in one Egyptian appliance range over about nine weeks to 30 October 2026, so a different range could look different. They do not show total market size or market share for Egypt. Of summer, the window covers only the last days of August and misses June, July and most of August. It has no Ramadan and no White Friday, so the price and demand figures support no statement about seasons, and they cannot say whether now is a good time to buy. Demand shares are estimates and, in brand tables, move between months. The tables do not explain why any brand or band sits where it does.
What should appliance brand owners do with the gap?
Many readers of a price page are shoppers, and they are your market too. Someone typing اسعار التكييفات wants a number now. For related demand patterns, see what Egypt's home shoppers actually buy. The steps below are working rules from Mojo's media practice, not market data.
- Run this comparison on your own numbers first. For each category, put share of models next to share of orders, by size and by price band. It takes an afternoon in a spreadsheet. A comparison like this tells you where to look, and your own table tells you what to do.
- Budget by demand, not by catalogue count. Spending evenly across a catalogue funds the part with the most models. In ACs that would put nearly as much money behind 3 HP as behind 1.5 HP, against the demand split above. Group campaigns by capacity and price band so you can see and shift this.
- Build a landing page for each price search. Create a page per capacity, such as تكييف 1.5 حصان, with Arabic copy, a live price, and the choice between inverter and non-inverter set out plainly. Link it to the Arabic search terms.
- Lead with the entry model, then show the step up. If your demand looks like this range, the first ad should show the model people actually buy. Use the page to explain what the higher price of an inverter gets them.
- Decide what a thin part of the range is for. Models with little demand may still earn their place by anchoring price or serving installers. Keep them on the site, but stop paying to promote them by default.
- Keep every price in the account accurate. With individual prices moving often, a number fixed in an ad goes stale fast, even when the median is flat. The guide to selling phones through a price surge covers the feed, ad and landing page audit, and it applies to appliances too.
- Protect big-ticket orders. Have AC pages live before the hot months, and read the guide to cash-on-delivery Meta ads in Egypt if refused deliveries are eating into large orders.
